FacilitiesIndoor Swimming PoolJack Purcell Pool's uniqueness is that the water temperature is 92 Fahrenheit and is accessible to individuals with mobility impairments. The pool has an electric transfer lift and graduating stairs with arm support to enter the pool. It also has a full length metal hand rail and full length rope on opposite side. The pool can be booked for special events such as birthday parties after our regular hours of operation. For information on rental please call 564-1028. Outdoor Wading PoolThe St. Luke's Wading Pool staff at 166 Frank St. (at Gladstone and Elgin) are ready to offer a safe and fun environment for the children and youth in our community during their summer vacation. The wading pool will be open at the end of June daily to the 3rd week of August (weather permitting). Join us in mid-July for a special event day which is planned and will include games, crafts, prizes and a visit from Dexter the parkasaurus and a lot more fun. Inquire with pool staff regarding the introduction to water play program, which invites pre-schoolers and caregivers to participate in various water activities throughout the summer. Tennis CourtsTwo lighted tennis courts located at the corner of Frank St./Cartier are available for public use until October 15, 2006. The court is located in the back of Jack Purcell Center off Frank/Metcalfe. Outdoor Skating RinkLace up your skates and come on down to the neighbourhood rink. A change area and outdoor lighting are provided to make this a comfortable outdoor winter activity, in Centretown off Elgin St. The outdoor rink season will commence in late December 2006 to February 2007 (weather permitting). For information on other rinks in your area, please call the Seasonal Recreation Office at 580-2590 Community GardenThe JPRA in conjunction with the City of Ottawa in 2002 saw the creation of an enchanting community Garden. The garden was made possible by a donation from Levingston and Vine with matching dollars from the JPRA and the City of Ottawa. Come visit our garden. The space is available for one time rentals.
